Schedule - This is a 12-hour night shift on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule that provides built-in extended time off each week. This schedule offers stability, work-life balance, and predictable rotation with alternating 5-day weekends off.
- Shift A: Monday & Tuesday, working every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
- Shift B: Wednesday & Thursday, working every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

Summary of Role
We're looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician who thrives in a fast-paced, highly automated food-processing environment. You'll support everything from pasteurizers and robotics to boilers and wastewater systems, keeping operations running safely, smoothly, and sustainably. This is a multi-craft role—mechanical, electrical, and controls—where no two days are alike. You'll troubleshoot, repair, and optimize equipment used to produce and package award-winning butter while helping uphold the creamery's strict food safety and quality standards. This is a safety sensitive
role in a 24/7; 365 dairy processing operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production, packaging, and utility systems.
- Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, sensors, robotics, and automated packaging lines.
- Support compliance for pasteurization and regulatory-sealed systems (PMO, DATCP, Weights & Measures).
- Maintain utilities including ammonia refrigeration, boilers, compressed air, and wastewater pretreatment.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure sanitary, efficient repairs.
- Use the Limble CMMS to manage work orders, parts, and maintenance records.
- Champion safety and food safety every day.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 3+ years of industrial or food manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills (480 VAC, PLCs, VFDs, pneumatics, hydraulics).
- Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic tools (multimeter, calibrator, gauges).
- Detail-oriented and committed to safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Willingness to be part of a rotating on-call schedule.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications preferred.
- Preferred Experience/Training
(Don't worry if you don't have these. We will provide if you are the right candidate):
· Ammonia refrigeration, boiler or wastewater operator certification.
· PLC/HMI or robotic experience (Allen-Bradley, Fanuc, etc.).
· Sanitary welding (AWS D18.1)/fabrication skills. - Lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 80 pounds occasionally.
- Use pallet jacks and forklifts to move up to 3,500 pounds.
- Climb and work from ladders, platforms, and elevated areas.
- Occasionally work in hot, humid, or confined spaces.
- Stand and move throughout the shift in a production environment.
- Safely wear required PPE (hearing, eye, gloves, respirator as needed).
Base hourly wage range: $ $31.30 per hour
This position also
receives a $1.00 per hour shift premium between the hours of 6pm and 6am, and a
$1.00 per hour shift premium on Saturdays and Sundays. This hourly wage range
is exclusive of fringe benefits. The compensation package may also include
incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary bonuses. If
you are hired at CROPP, your final base hourly wage compensation will be determined
based on factors such as skills, education, and/or
experience. Additionally, we believe in the importance of pay equity and
consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final
offer. Please keep in mind that entry-level candidates to this role should
expect to be at the lower end of the hourly wage range and hiring at the maximum of the hourly wage range
is not typical.
