The Savoy Hotel is seeking an experienced and service-oriented Barman to join our beach and poolside hospitality team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about mixology, provide exceptional customer service, and contribute to an energetic and professional bar environment. You'll prepare and serve beverages to guests, maintain a clean and organized bar, and help create memorable experiences at our vibrant oceanfront resort.
Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Schedule: Must have daytime, evening, holiday, and weekend availability
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with recipes and quality standards
- Deliver warm, attentive service to all guests at the bar and in surrounding areas
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bar, tools, and glassware
- Set up and break down the bar area daily, including stocking supplies and garnishes
- Follow proper protocols to ensure responsible alcohol service and prevent overconsumption
- Handle transactions and maintain accuracy with POS system (Toast)
- Support the bar team in meeting daily sales goals and upselling signature cocktails and specials
- Communicate effectively with servers, runners, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow
- Participate in daily pre-shift briefings and contribute ideas for improving guest experience and operations
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of bartending experience in a fast-paced hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer
- Friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor
- Ability to multitask and stay composed under pressure
- Must be fluent in English; Spanish is a plus
- Familiarity with Toast POS preferred
- Food Handler and Responsible Alcohol Service Certifications are a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Stand and walk for long periods during shifts
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
