Our logistics operations in Des Moines, Iowa, are expanding, and we need a skilled Receiving Clerk to join our team. The Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of all incoming goods. You will inspect deliveries, verify quantities against purchase orders, and ensure that all items are properly logged into our inventory management system. This role is critical for maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring the smooth flow of materials into our distribution center. A strong attention to detail and commitment to safety are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from carriers.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies.
- Verify quantities against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately enter received goods into the inventory management system.
- Label and stage incoming materials for put-away.
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding receiving issues.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely when necessary.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper lifting techniques and PPE usage.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, warehousing, or a related logistics role.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and computer systems.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures.
- Familiarity with proper lifting and PPE protocols.
- Good communication skills.
