Our growing logistics company in Minneapolis, Minnesota is looking for a diligent Shipping Clerk to manage outbound shipments. The Shipping Clerk will play a vital role in ensuring that all outgoing products are accurately documented, packaged, and dispatched efficiently. You will be responsible for preparing shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining shipping records. This position demands exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail to prevent errors and ensure customer satisfaction. You will be part of a dedicated team focused on optimizing our shipping operations and maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency in our distribution center.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and print shipping labels and bills of lading.
- Verify outgoing shipments against packing lists.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTL, etc.).
- Inspect packages for damage before shipment.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
- Communicate with other departments to resolve shipping discrepancies.
- Operate material handling equipment as needed to move goods to the shipping dock.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and computer systems.
- Strong understanding of shipping procedures and documentation.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of proper lifting techniques and the importance of PPE.
- A commitment to workplace safety is essential.
