Our Minneapolis, Minnesota facility is looking for an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain accurate inventory records. This role is critical for ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our entire supply chain. The Inventory Control Specialist will oversee all aspects of inventory management, from receiving and put-away to stock counts and cycle counting. You will be responsible for identifying and resolving discrepancies, implementing process improvements, and ensuring the integrity of our inventory data. This position requires a meticulous individual with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to minimize shrinkage and maximize accuracy.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory to optimize space utilization.
- Train warehouse staff on inventory control best practices.
- Monitor and enforce Safety protocols within the inventory control area.
- Ensure all personnel are using appropriate PPE, especially when handling materials.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth inventory flow, supporting overall logistics operations.
- Must be comfortable with tasks involving moderate Lifting.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar role.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Knowledge of inventory control techniques and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with Safety regulations in a warehouse environment.
- Experience with Logistics and supply chain management.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
