We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Material Handler for our San Diego, California facility. This critical role supports the efficient flow of goods within our warehouse, ensuring materials are moved, organized, and tracked accurately. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse operations, excellent safety consciousness, and the ability to operate various types of material handling equipment. Responsibilities include receiving and unloading materials, transporting them to designated storage areas, preparing materials for shipment, and maintaining inventory records. You will be responsible for ensuring all activities comply with safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE . This role requires the ability to perform strenuous physical tasks, including significant Lifting and maneuvering of heavy items. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials and shipments.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from production areas, storage locations, and shipping docks.
- Accurately record material movements and inventory levels in the WMS.
- Stage materials for production, shipping, or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE .
- Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on material handling equipment.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Support logistics operations by ensuring timely availability of materials.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college or technical training preferred.
- Proven experience as a material handler, forklift operator, or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift certification and a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate a wide range of material handling equipment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, push, pull, and perform heavy Lifting (up to 75 pounds).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Must wear required PPE , including safety shoes, gloves, and eye protection.
- Good communication skills.
