We are looking for a dedicated Distribution Center Associate to join our team in Nashville, Tennessee. As a Distribution Center Associate, you will perform a variety of essential tasks that keep our logistics operations running smoothly. This includes receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and preparing orders for shipment, and managing inventory. You will operate material handling equipment and contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment. A strong commitment to safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is paramount. This role is crucial to our ability to serve our customers efficiently and effectively within the logistics chain.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders.
- Stock and organize materials and products in designated warehouse locations.
- Accurately pick items from shelves based on customer orders, using RF scanners and other equipment.
- Pack orders with care and efficiency, ensuring proper packaging for transit.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including labeling and staging for carriers.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery safely and competently.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workspace and contribute to overall warehouse organization.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a secure work environment.
- Participate in regular inventory counts and cycle counting activities.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily logistics objectives.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a distribution center, warehouse, or logistics role is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in order fulfillment and inventory management.
- Familiarity with operating material handling equipment and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic are essential.
- Understanding of warehouse safety regulations and a proactive approach to safety is required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including potential overtime and weekends.
