We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist for our Grand Rapids, Michigan facility. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing systems and procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our inventory. This critical role involves analyzing inventory data, identifying trends, reducing discrepancies, and optimizing stock levels to support our logistics operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of inventory management best practices, excellent analytical skills, and a proven ability to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain accurate inventory records utilizing advanced WMS functionalities.
- Conduct regular and thorough inventory audits, including cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve complex inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and optimize stock levels.
- Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures to enhance accuracy and reduce shrinkage.
- Collaborate with procurement, operations, and logistics teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
- Manage and oversee the put-away process to ensure efficient and accurate storage.
- Monitor and report on key inventory performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including proper equipment operation and the use of PPE.
- Train warehouse staff on inventory control procedures and best practices, emphasizing safe Lifting techniques.
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar inventory management role.
- In-depth knowledge of WMS and inventory control methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
- Excellent understanding of warehouse operations and broader logistics principles.
- Ability to perform physical checks, including moderate Lifting, when required.
- Thorough understanding of safety standards and the importance of PPE.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
