We are looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our team in Boston, Massachusetts. The Material Handler is crucial for the efficient movement and organization of materials within our warehouse. This role involves operating material handling equipment, loading and unloading goods, and maintaining an orderly storage system. A strong focus on Safety and operational efficiency is paramount. The ideal candidate will have experience with various types of warehouse equipment, possess physical stamina for manual tasks, and demonstrate a commitment to maintaining a secure and organized work environment. This position is key to our overall logistics success.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move goods.
- Load and unload trucks and containers efficiently and safely.
- Organize and stock materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Perform regular checks on equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock checks.
- Ensure the warehouse is kept clean, orderly, and free of hazards.
- Adhere strictly to all Safety regulations and procedures, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist in the receiving and shipping processes as needed.
- Manage the movement of materials to and from production areas or staging zones.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift operation certification is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting of up to 60 pounds.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and inventory control principles.
- Strong understanding of Safety protocols in a warehouse setting.
- Excellent physical coordination and dexterity.
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain operations is beneficial.
