We are seeking a skilled Material Handler for our bustling facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In this essential role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse. This includes operating various types of equipment to transport goods, ensuring accurate placement, and supporting overall logistics operations. Your role is vital in keeping our operations running smoothly and preventing bottlenecks in the supply chain. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and proficiently.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stage materials for production or shipment.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Maintain equipment in good working condition and report any issues.
- Ensure the warehouse is kept clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all safety regulations and protocols, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist in training new material handlers.
- Support the logistics team in achieving daily operational goals.
The ideal candidate has proven experience operating material handling equipment and a solid understanding of warehouse safety procedures. A commitment to safety and the ability to work collaboratively are essential. This role requires physical stamina, including regular lifting up to 50 lbs. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, and compliance with all safety guidelines and the correct use of PPE is mandatory. Knowledge of logistics and inventory control systems is highly desirable.
