Join our growing team as a Forklift Operator in Raleigh, North Carolina. This vital role supports our warehouse operations by safely and efficiently moving materials and products throughout the facility. You will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts, including sit-down, stand-up, and reach trucks, to load and unload trucks, move inventory, and transport goods to designated areas. A strong commitment to safety is paramount, and you will be expected to adhere strictly to all operational procedures and OSHA regulations. This position demands precision, spatial awareness, and a deep understanding of warehouse logistics. Responsibilities include inspecting equipment before use, maintaining organized storage areas, assisting with inventory counts, and reporting any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly. You will be working closely with other warehouse staff, including pickers and packers, to ensure a smooth flow of goods. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment is a key aspect of this role. The ideal candidate possesses a valid forklift certification, a proven track record of safe operation, and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment. Regular duties involve significant periods of standing, walking, and operating machinery. Proper use of PPE, such as steel-toed boots and high-visibility vests, is mandatory at all times. This role is essential for efficient logistics and requires reliability and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Expect to handle materials that require careful maneuvering and precise placement. This role demands a keen eye for detail and a dedication to maintaining operational integrity.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload goods from trucks and trailers.
- Transport inventory to and from storage areas.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues.
- Follow all safety regulations and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Coordinate with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift certification.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and good spatial reasoning skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Reliable and punctual.
