Seeking an experienced and certified Forklift Operator for our Kansas City, Missouri distribution center. This critical role involves operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. You will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth flow of goods throughout the warehouse, contributing directly to our logistics efficiency. Safety is our top priority, and we expect all operators to maintain the highest standards while on duty. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a secure work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate various types of forklifts to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers with accuracy and care.
- Transport products to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Perform daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any issues or needed repairs.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by properly staging, stacking, and documenting all movements.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the use of required PPE.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, such as order picking and packing.
- Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals related to logistics and efficiency.
- Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and free from hazards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Familiarity with inventory control systems.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Must be committed to wearing appropriate PPE at all times.
- Reliable and able to work a flexible schedule if required.
