IL Activities Assistant

Taylor Glen located in Concord, NC is seeking a qualified part-time Activities Assistant to join our team. This individual will provide engagement for our Independent Living residents. Come join a team that is dedicated to making sure our residents receive first-rate continuum of care and services tailored to fit their needs

Responsibilities

• Planning, implementing and documenting of activities for residents and assisting with planning/set up for theme/special events
• Plans off-campus trips for residents, and drives residents on the outings
• Creates, posts, and/or distributes information and material regarding events, programs, activities, etc.
• Works closely with residents with dementia and cognitive impairment
• Alerts social services staff of concerns pertaining to residents

Qualifications

• Long term care experience working with dementia and Alzheimer's is strongly preferred
• Musical abilities are preferred (primarily piano)
• Artistic and decorating skills are preferred
• Must have compassion for the elderly
• Must be creative, energetic and professional, with good social, written and communication skills
• Must be able to follow directions both verbally and written and demonstrate flexibility in potential changes to the daily schedule
• Must be able to complete small set-ups independently
• Must be able to assist residents physically in boarding the bus, sitting, standing and walking
