We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Associate Attorney specializing in Workers' Compensation law to join our dedicated legal team. Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse caseload involving workers' compensation claims from inception through resolution, including hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Draft clear and persuasive legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, settlement agreements, and correspondence.
  • Lead a team of paralegals to help assist in all matters
  • Interview clients, witnesses, medical providers, and employers to gather pertinent information for case development.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers, employers, and other stakeholders to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Represent clients at hearings before administrative agencies or courts, presenting evidence and advocating their rights effectively.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas such as personal injury law, family law, or employment law when cases intersect or require multidisciplinary expertise.
  • Maintain meticulous case files and ensure compliance with all procedural deadlines and administrative requirements.
  • Stay informed of developments in workers' compensation law as well as related fields such as tribal law & regulations or environmental law that may impact cases.

Experience

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in South Carolina
  • Prior experience practicing workers' compensation law is highly preferred; however, recent graduates with strong research and writing skills will also be considered.
  • Proven ability to draft comprehensive legal documents with clarity and precision.
  • Experience in negotiation tactics and settlement procedures within the context of workers' compensation claims is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with litigation procedures including hearings, depositions, and court filings enhances effectiveness in this role.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—and the ability to advocate confidently on behalf of clients.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
