Facilities Management Division, (FMD) is seeking to fill a Physical Plant Director position in their Technical Automation department. This role will be responsible to design, direct and provide strategic planning for the Capitol Complex integrated environmental, fire alarm, access control, security camera, utility metering and lighting control systems. The Physical Plant Director will provide supervision to shop personnel in coordinating an efficient and economical maintenance, repair, and constructions program in all state buildings under Facilities Management Division jurisdiction.

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience planning and supervising building/facilities management and/or building construction management.

AND

  • Experience with facility management and Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI) automation systems, including application programming (CAE, Quick Builder, Graphic Display Builder).
  • Knowledge of HVAC, environmental, security, and life-safety systems, including principles of control theory and direct digital control (DDC).
  • Proficiency in database management and administration (Microsoft Access, SQL, Excel, Word).
  • Experience with network analysis, administration, and systems software applications in a Windows environment.
  • Supervisory experience, with knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques for leading technical staff.
  • Class D driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with computer-aided/integrated facilities management systems for troubleshooting and program coordination.
  • Program and project management skills, including planning and oversight of complex technical initiatives.
  • Ability to integrate electronic and mechanical systems (environmental, fire management, security) with automated technology.
  • Knowledge of WAN networks, PC hardware/software, and ability to oversee technical support staff.
  • Understanding of division operations and integration of IT with varied operational issues.
  • Experience with short- and long-range planning principles.
  • Knowledge of state purchasing and contracting laws, policies, and practices.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and policies governing facilities programs and services.
