JOB DESCRIPTION: CLASSROOM EDUCATOR

Job Title: Esthetics Educator

SUMMARY

The Classroom Educator's primary responsibility is to create a learning environment where students can perform new skills in the classroom and gain the necessary experience for working on clients in the Student Spa. This position requires a high level of emotional intelligence and professionalism. Educators must be able to manage classroom dynamics, student concerns, and conflict with emotional tact, diplomacy, and fairness.

Educators are to be present and available for students, teaching them new skills and allowing them to develop competencies without the pressure of working on paying clients.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain constant readiness of classroom and spa areas in accordance with professional and State Board standards.
• Arrive fully prepared with lesson plans and materials designed to maximize student focus and participation
• Adhere to scheduled class times and manage breaks appropriately
• Enforce academic and behavioral expectations consistently and professionally
• Actively supervise students at all times and approve the start of all services. Students may not begin any service without educator sign-off and initiation of our required three-point service check-in:
• Service Start: Confirm client booking, review consultation forms, and assess contraindications
• Mid-Service: Evaluate skill level, technique, and appropriate application of the service
• Service Close: Oversee client education, retail recommendations, rebooking and proper station breakdown and disinfection
• Maintains constant presence in the classroom and takes initiative to teach and interact with students, giving constructive or positive feedback to students
• Monitors students throughout the day to ensure students are following State Board requirements, school protocols and standards, and are conducting proper consultation, documentation, and service standards for every service
• Monitors appropriate use of student personal work, lunches and breaks to ensure that students are engaged throughout the day and making the appropriate applied effort
• Advise students timely when standards are not met; give suggestions for ways to improve written and practical skills
• Documents student disciplinary actions and accident reports for students or clients
• Uses, promotes, and educates students and clients about the professional products in the spa
• Responsible for checking all company and inter-department calendars and curriculum schedules
• Ensure proper daily closing if the classroom and student spa - reviewing and signing off on student timecards. Additionally, ensuring students have completed all clean-up tasks. Educator performs closing duties.
• Attends all hands and educator staff meetings

COMPETENCIES

Knowledge of:

• Skilled/knowledgeable with Principles and processes for providing excellent customer service
• Competency for principles and processes of completing all services within the scope of licensure, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
• Competency and proficiency in Microsoft Outlook Power Point, Word, Excel
• Ability and willingness to be trained on and apply training for various school software programs
• Basic business arithmetic
• English language fluency and comprehension

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum three years of relevant experience in the spa environment
• Current and active California Esthetics license
• Excellent computer and office skills
• Excellent organization and preparation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and positive attitude

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Much of the work consists of conveying information verbally and in writing with students, co-workers, clients and visitors. Additionally, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following: sit, stand, and walk. The employee must occasionally lift, carry, and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee occasionally may need to transport himself or herself for work-related reasons.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet
• Employees may be subjected to chemicals commonly found in the industry
• Occasional travel may be required

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift (Tuesday-Friday)
• Day shift
• Schedule will include up to 3 mandatory Saturdays per month.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour
