Dental Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with dental procedures, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for procedures
• Assist the dentist during various dental treatments, including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques
• Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed
• Record and update patient medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes accurately in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic
• Manage patient flow by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance information
• Maintain infection control standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures
• Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care
• Support administrative tasks related to medical records, medical coding, and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary and understand specialized needs of pediatric patients
• Ensure the dental clinic environment adheres to all safety protocols related to infection control and anatomy knowledge

Requirements

• Prior experience working as a Dental Assistant or in a dental clinic setting preferred
• Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly desirable
• Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques including X-ray and 3D scanner technology
• Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures
• Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry procedures
• Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to dentistry and oral health care practices
• Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration
• Certification in radiography or X-ray certification is preferred but not mandatory
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
