About the Role

Our client is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead their day-to-day accounting operations and elevate financial reporting. This leader will own the monthly close, build sturdy controls, and partner with business leaders to turn numbers into decisions.

What You'll Do

• Own the close:
  Drive a timely, accurate monthly/quarterly/year-end close; prepare consolidated financial statements and management reporting.
• Controls & compliance:
  Maintain GAAP compliance; strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures; coordinate audits and tax filings with external advisors.
• Team leadership:
  Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team; clarify roles, implement SLAs, and set KPI dashboards.
• Operations finance:
  Oversee AR/AP, billing, credit & collections, payroll, fixed assets, and cash management; optimize working capital and treasury processes.
• Systems & process:
  Lead automation/ERP enhancements and data integrity initiatives.
• Forecast support:
  Partner with FP&A on budgets/forecasts; ensure actuals vs. plan reporting is clear, timely, and actionable.
• Risk & governance:
  Maintain documentation, SOX-lite controls, and accounting policies; manage insurance, banking, and compliance calendars.

What You'll Bring

• Experience:
  years progressive accounting experience; 3-5+ years managing an accounting team in a dynamic, multi-entity environment.
• Credentials:
  Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance required
• Technical depth:
  Advanced GAAP, consolidations, and revenue recognition, expert with Excel; experience with a leading ERP (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Dynamics, or similar).
• Leadership:
  Proven ability to set standards, coach talent, and drive accountability with a service-oriented mindset.
• Operator's mindset:
  Comfortable rolling up sleeves while building scalable processes; bias for accuracy, speed, and clarity.
• Communication:
  Clear, concise communicator who can translate accounting into business terms for non-finance leaders.
