Housekeeping Floor Technician

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our environmental services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of various flooring surfaces across commercial and institutional facilities. This role requires a strong focus on floor care, including carpet cleaning, buffing, and general janitorial duties. Prior janitorial or custodial experience is preferred, and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness is essential. The Floor Technician plays a vital role in creating a safe, hygienic, and professional environment for our clients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive floor care tasks including cleaning, buffing, stripping, sealing, and waxing floors to ensure optimal appearance and safety.
• Conduct carpet cleaning using appropriate equipment and techniques to remove stains, dirt, and allergens.
• Maintain cleanliness of all assigned areas by performing janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to established protocols for environmental services.
• Follow detailed cleaning schedules to ensure all flooring surfaces meet company standards for cleanliness and safety.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards identified during routine cleaning activities to management promptly.
• Use environmentally friendly cleaning products whenever possible to promote sustainable practices within the facility.

Requirements

• Proven experience in commercial cleaning, custodial work, or environmental services preferred.
• Knowledge of floor care techniques including carpet cleaning, buffing, stripping, sealing, and waxing.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform thorough cleaning tasks efficiently.
• Ability to operate various cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive motions as required for floor maintenance tasks.
• Previous janitorial or custodial experience is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for specific equipment or procedures if needed.
