Crane operator

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Crane Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of heavy equipment, particularly cranes, and possess a solid understanding of construction site operations. This role involves working on-site to facilitate the movement and placement of materials, ensuring projects progress efficiently and safely. Candidates with a background in construction, mechanical knowledge, and experience with heavy machinery are encouraged to apply. All positions are paid, including internships.

Responsibilities

• Operate cranes and other heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to move materials safely around the construction site.
• Coordinate with site supervisors and team members to execute lifting plans accurately.
• Conduct pre-operation inspections on cranes and machinery to ensure safety standards are met.
• Assist in setting up lifting operations, including rigging and signaling for safe movement of loads.
• Maintain clear communication with ground personnel during lifting operations to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Follow all safety protocols and adhere to OSHA regulations throughout all operations.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any issues for repairs or servicing.

Skills

• Proven experience operating cranes and heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, concrete mixers, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, tanker trucks, and farm machinery.
• Construction site experience with knowledge of site safety procedures and protocols.
• Mechanical knowledge related to the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics related to machinery operation.
• Commercial driving skills with a valid driver's license preferred for operating or transporting equipment between sites.
• Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment or similar brands is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members effectively.
