We specialize in growth and optimization strategies, partnering closely with founders to help their businesses scale sustainably. Our fractional COOs and operational experts serve a range of industries including coaching, e-commerce, creative services, and education.
We're looking for a highly organized, proactive, and strategic Operations Manager to join our consultancy as a contractor. This person will serve as a key point of contact across a portfolio of client accounts, translating vision into action and helping our clients run more efficiently.
About the Role The Operations Manager will work under the direction of our lead COOs and in partnership with client leadership teams. You'll be responsible for overseeing the implementation of operational initiatives, streamlining systems, and managing ongoing client projects. No two weeks will look the same—you might be building out a project management system one week and facilitating a strategic planning session the next.
This is a contract role with flexible hours (10–40 per week), and we're looking for someone who can be available during typical business hours (9 AM – 2 PM Pacific) for collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with client COOs to execute growth strategies, optimize operations, and manage strategic projects
- Oversee day-to-day operations for client accounts, serving as a right-hand partner to founders or executive teams alongside the COO
- Build and maintain SOPs, project plans, and dashboards to track business performance and initiatives
- Execute projects end to end as assigned, understanding that in small growing businesses, both speed and accuracy matter
- Own implementation of tools and systems such as CRMs, project management software, or financial reporting templates
- Identify operational bottlenecks and propose practical solutions
- Coordinate cross-functional workflows between marketing, sales, finance, and delivery teams
- Lead internal and client meetings, ensuring agendas, notes, and action items
- Draft client communications, strategic summaries, and internal reports
- Help develop and document repeatable frameworks for internal use within the On Call COO team
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in an operations or project management role (consulting experience preferred)
- Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills
- Strong tech literacy; experience with tools like Asana, ClickUp, Notion, Slack, Google Workspace, Airtable, and CRMs
- Ability to work independently while staying aligned with team goals and client expectations
- Strategic thinker who is also detail-oriented and execution-focused
- Comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities across multiple clients and industries
- Bonus: Familiarity with manufacturing, private equity and energy

- Hybrid Part Time - work from home and weekly trips to plant facility
- Flexible hours (outside of facility visits)
