Korean-Style Chinese Restaurant Cook / Line Chef Job Posting

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Cook / Line Chef to join our kitchen team. This role is crucial for preparing and serving exceptional Korean-style Chinese dishes, such as Jajangmyeon , Jjamppong , and Tangsuyuk , while ensuring fast, efficient, and hygienic kitchen operations to meet high customer demand. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in Chinese cuisine preparation, menu mastery, and the ability to manage a busy kitchen environment. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic setting focused on flavor, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Core Menu Preparation: Prepare and serve signature Korean-style Chinese dishes (e.g., Jajang, Jjamppong, Bokkeumbap, Tangsuyuk) with consistent quality and adherence to established recipes.
  • Mise en Place: Execute accurate food preparation and ingredient breakdown (pre-processing/slicing) and ensure proper storage of fresh ingredients.
  • Order Fulfillment: Manage and accurately execute a high volume of orders promptly, especially during peak service hours (lunch and dinner rush).
  • Hygiene & Safety: Strictly adhere to food safety regulations and maintain kitchen safety protocols specific to high-heat Chinese cooking environments.
  • Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the cooking area, including the stoves, woks, and all related equipment.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with floor staff and other kitchen team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Inventory Support: Assist in monitoring ingredient stock levels and supporting the ordering process for supplies.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Korean-style Chinese Restaurant (Jajangmyeon/Jjamppong house) kitchen is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience and proficiency in cooking core Chinese-Korean dishes.
  • Mastery of Wok/High-Heat cooking techniques and flame control essential for Chinese cuisine.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-speed, demanding environment (especially delivery and dine-in peak times) while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and a cooperative, team-oriented attitude.
  • Flexibility to manage inventory and handle menu adjustments.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
