Compensation Range
The base pay scale for this position is $ $53.71. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
What you will be doing
JOB DESCRIPTION
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
o 5-10 years of hands-on locksmith experience (commercial or institutional).
o Prior supervisory or shop management experience strongly preferred.
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Standing or sitting in the same location; may be required to stoop, climb or lift material (20 lbs. or more) or equipment.
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature, and noise. Examples: patient care providers and laboratory technicians.
HAZARDS OSHA
Category 3 Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, or other potentially infectious materials and Category 1 tasks are not a condition of employment.
POSITION & UNIT ACCOUNTABILITIES
- SimpleK key system knowledge required.
- Rekey locks, create master key systems
- Maintain key control records.
- Ensure compliance with fire, life safety, and accessibility codes.
- Supervise and mentor locksmith technicians and apprentices.
- Manage inventory of locks, keys, and related hardware.
- Schedule and dispatch jobs; maintain workflow efficiency.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work orders and key distribution.
- Implement hospital security protocols and key control systems.
- Knowledge of Corbin Russwin Locks required.
EDUCATION REQUIRED
o High School Diploma or equivalent
EDUCATION PREFERRED
o Technical or vocational training in locksmithing preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE REQUIRED
o Valid Locksmith License NYC
