Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and experienced Lead Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring that every dish meets our high standards for quality, presentation, and flavor. As a Lead Line Cook, you will play a key role in menu execution, food safety compliance, and fostering a collaborative kitchen atmosphere that celebrates culinary excellence.

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of line cooks and kitchen staff during service hours to ensure smooth operation and timely meal preparation.
  • Prepare and cook menu items with precision, demonstrating expert knife skills and food handling techniques to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient selection, portion sizes, and presentation standards to elevate the dining experience.
  • Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring adherence to food safety regulations and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Collaborate with culinary team members to develop new recipes and refine existing dishes, emphasizing creativity and seasonal ingredients.
  • Manage inventory levels for ingredients and supplies, minimizing waste while ensuring availability of all necessary items for meal service.
  • Support dietary department needs by understanding dietary restrictions and accommodating special requests with care and professionalism.
  • Train new team members on kitchen procedures, safety protocols, and proper food handling techniques to foster a skilled and compliant workforce.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in food industry roles such as dietary aide, restaurant cook, or culinary professional with a focus on fine dining or catering environments.
  • Strong culinary skills including knife proficiency, food preparation expertise, and meal assembly techniques.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices essential for maintaining a safe kitchen environment.
  • Experience with menu planning, food service operations, and catering is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate team members and manage kitchen workflows efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with staff and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Prior dietary department experience or familiarity with dietary restrictions is a plus.
