We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator for our facility in Durham, North Carolina. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials within our warehouse and distribution center. Your expertise is essential for maintaining the smooth flow of inventory and ensuring timely order fulfillment, a key aspect of our logistics operations. You will perform pre-operation checks on equipment, maintain a clean work area, and adhere strictly to all safety regulations. This includes the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. The ideal candidate will have proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment, excellent spatial awareness, and a strong commitment to safety. The role requires physical stamina, including the ability to perform frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials accurately.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents.
- Ensure correct use of PPE at all times.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by properly placing and locating stock.
- Organize warehouse space for optimal efficiency and safety.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, supporting overall logistics.
- Participate in inventory counts.
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics best practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and PPE requirements.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
