We are seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our logistics team in Kansas City, Missouri. In this role, you will be responsible for the movement and organization of materials throughout the warehouse. This includes receiving, storing, and distributing materials, as well as operating material handling equipment. Your efforts will ensure the efficient flow of goods, supporting our overall logistics operations. Attention to detail, adherence to Safety protocols, and the ability to perform tasks involving physical exertion are essential. You will work as part of a team to maintain a safe and productive warehouse environment.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Accurately store and organize materials, ensuring proper inventory management.
- Pick and stage materials for outgoing shipments.
- Maintain equipment and ensure it is in good working order.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Perform regular Safety checks of the work environment.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Tasks will involve significant Lifting and physical activity.
- Ensure efficient material flow to support all logistics functions.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Certification to operate forklifts and other relevant equipment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and product labels.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Physical stamina for demanding tasks.
- Commitment to maintaining a Safety-first workplace.
- Understanding of Logistics and supply chain principles.
