We are looking for a reliable and efficient Picker/Packer to join our bustling distribution center in Chicago, Illinois. This role is essential for ensuring our customers receive their orders accurately and on time. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, works well under pressure, and is committed to maintaining a safe working environment. Your primary duties will involve accurately picking items based on order fulfillment requests and then carefully packing them for shipment, ensuring they are protected during transit. You will also be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and keeping your workspace organized and clean. Strict adherence to all company safety policies and the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE ) is required. This position demands physical agility, including regular Lifting and movement throughout the day. Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is advantageous. We offer a competitive hourly rate and a supportive team atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse locations according to order tickets.
- Inspect picked items for damage and ensure quality.
- Pack items securely into appropriate shipping containers.
- Apply shipping labels and prepare packages for dispatch.
- Verify order accuracy before packing and shipping.
- Maintain inventory levels by restocking picked locations as needed.
- Keep work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Operate scanning equipment and warehouse management systems.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and utilize provided PPE .
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in picking, packing, or general warehouse work is preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for entire shifts.
- Must be able to perform repetitive Lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good manual dexterity for packing operations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to adhere to all safety guidelines and wear required PPE .
- Understanding of basic logistics and order fulfillment processes.
