Job Summary:
We are seeking a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our busy logistics hub in Houston, Texas. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for all incoming goods, responsible for accurately documenting, inspecting, and processing deliveries. Your role is critical in ensuring the integrity of our inventory and the efficiency of our supply chain. This involves meticulous record-keeping, careful handling of materials, and clear communication with vendors and internal teams. We are looking for an individual with a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This is a key position within our logistics operations, contributing directly to our company's success.
Responsibilities:
  • Receive and unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
  • Verify that received goods match purchase orders in terms of quantity and item description.
  • Inspect incoming merchandise for any damage or defects, documenting findings appropriately.
  • Accurately enter receiving data into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or other designated systems.
  • Label and stage received goods for distribution to appropriate warehouse areas.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, drivers, and internal departments regarding deliveries.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area, adhering to all logistics standards.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and proficiently.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, ensuring the use of required PPE.
  • Assist with inventory cycle counts and reconciliation as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or inventory control role is preferred.
  • Strong data entry and record-keeping skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and scanning equipment.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced logistics environment.
  • Understanding of warehouse safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Proficiency in using basic office software is a plus.
