Our Cincinnati, Ohio facility is looking for an experienced Forklift Operator to join our dedicated logistics team. This role is critical for maintaining the efficient flow of goods within our warehouse. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and accurate operation of industrial forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your primary focus will be on ensuring that all materials are handled with care and precision, contributing to the overall success of our supply chain operations. You will be tasked with loading and unloading trailers, transferring inventory to and from racking systems, and supporting order fulfillment processes. Strict adherence to safety protocols is non-negotiable; you must be proficient in OSHA guidelines and wear all required PPE, including safety glasses, hard hats (if applicable), and steel-toed footwear. Daily equipment checks and routine maintenance reporting are essential to prevent operational disruptions. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience operating forklifts in a busy warehouse environment, possess a current forklift certification, and demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety. This role requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand for long periods, climb on and off equipment, and perform lifting tasks up to 50 lbs. Excellent communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration with supervisors and team members. Understanding of inventory control and warehouse management systems is a significant advantage. Your contribution is vital to our logistics network, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in every movement.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) safely and productively.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, rail cars, and company vehicles.
- Move and stack materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts.
- Assist with inventory control, cycle counts, and stock rotation.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to achieve operational targets.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator (2+ years preferred).
- Valid forklift certification and ability to pass a forklift skills test.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse safety practices and OSHA standards.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
