Cheese Department Associate

Position Description

As a member of our cheese department, you will be involved in each step in the life cycle of our cheese, with a particular focus on caring for the cheese as it ripens and ages in our cheese cave. From time to time, COWS Creamery may also add other duties to employment within the reasonable scope of work.

The Cheese Department Associate is responsible for assisting with general plant operations including, but not limited to:

· Facilitate shipping and receiving of cheese and butter products

· Handling the cheese at different stages

· Cutting, wrapping and packaging cheese

· Packaging cheese for shipping

· Wash, clean and perform equipment maintenance

· Perform all tasks and actions safety and according to quality standards

· Perform general cleaning duties and assist with various projects as needed while working in a team environment

· Working with Quality for samples and proper food safe procedures

· Assist in other departments as required.

Working Conditions­­

· May be required to go to heights of up to two meters

· Working around/operating heavy equipment, including electric forklift and pallet jack.

· Moderate noise level

· Standing for long periods of time

· Working inside coolers and freezers; safety gear provided

· Must be physically able to lift and handle up to 20 Kgs

· Repetitive tasks

· Fast-paced environment

Pay: $20.00 per hour
