Solar Installer

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Solar Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing solar energy systems on residential and commercial properties, ensuring all components are properly assembled, secured, and operational. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, physical stamina, and adherence to safety protocols to deliver high-quality solar installations efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and installation plans for solar energy systems
• Install mounting hardware, panels, inverters, and wiring according to specifications and safety standards
• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and rigging gear to prepare sites for installation
• Use hand tools and power tools to assemble and secure solar components
• Perform electrical connections involving low voltage wiring and ensure proper grounding
• Conduct site assessments to determine optimal placement of solar panels
• Ensure all installations comply with local codes, safety regulations, and company policies
• Test installed systems for functionality and troubleshoot any issues that arise during or after installation
• Maintain a clean work environment and properly store tools and equipment after use

Requirements

• Mechanical knowledge with experience operating heavy equipment including excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and low voltage systems
• Prior electrical experience or background in electrical work is highly desirable
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding, rigging, and general construction techniques
• Ability to operate heavy equipment such as welding machines, bucket trucks, low voltage systems, and other related machinery safely
• Experience with welding or rigging is a plus but not mandatory
• Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials and work at heights or in confined spaces
• Valid driver's license with experience operating heavy machinery preferred
• Commitment to safety protocols and ability to work in various weather conditions
• Prior experience in solar installation or related field is advantageous but not required; training will be provided for qualified candidates

Pay: $25.00-$45.00 per hour
