We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our logistics team in Huntsville, Alabama. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your duties will include loading and unloading trucks, transporting materials within the warehouse, and assisting with inventory management. This position is vital to the smooth operation of our warehouse and distribution processes. A strong commitment to safety, adherence to operating procedures, and proficiency with various types of forklifts are essential. You will be expected to maintain equipment, report any issues, and always prioritize safety, including the correct use of PPE. A valid forklift operator certification is required. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Transport products from receiving to storage areas and from storage to shipping docks.
- Assist with inventory counts and checks as needed.
- Stack and organize merchandise in designated areas.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately to management.
- Follow all logistics procedures to ensure timely and accurate movement of goods.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Excellent knowledge of warehouse safety procedures.
- Ability to perform tasks involving frequent lifting and standing.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Familiarity with warehouse logistics and inventory control.
- Willingness to wear required PPE at all times.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
