Are you an experienced professional seeking an Inventory Control Specialist role in Detroit, Michigan? Our expansive warehouse is looking for a meticulous individual to manage and maintain the accuracy of our inventory. This position is crucial for our logistics operations, ensuring that stock levels are precise, discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly, and our warehouse systems are up-to-date. You will be responsible for conducting regular cycle counts, investigating inventory variances, and implementing procedures to minimize shrinkage and improve accuracy. A strong understanding of inventory management principles and experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is essential. Safety is a top priority, and you will be expected to enforce all safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to ensure a secure working environment. While this role is less physically demanding than some warehouse positions, occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds may be required. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures.
- Analyze inventory data and generate reports on stock levels and accuracy.
- Work with warehouse staff to ensure proper stock rotation and storage.
- Identify and report damaged or expired goods.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and the proper use of PPE.
- Assist in the implementation of new inventory management technologies.
- Maintain accurate records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
- Commitment to safety and experience in enforcing safety procedures and PPE use.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
