Our logistics operation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is seeking a dedicated Receiving Clerk to manage the critical flow of incoming goods. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for inventory entering our facility, responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting all shipments. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety are paramount as you ensure our inventory records are precise and our receiving area remains organized and efficient. This position is vital for maintaining the integrity of our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Accept and unload incoming deliveries from trucks and other vehicles.
- Carefully inspect all received merchandise for any damage, defects, or discrepancies against shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Accurately enter received goods into the inventory management system.
- Label items appropriately and ensure they are moved to the correct staging or storage locations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment in the receiving area, adhering to all logistics safety standards.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, following all safety guidelines and utilizing required PPE.
- Communicate any issues or discrepancies with supervisors and relevant departments promptly.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse tasks as directed.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics role is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Skilled in data entry and familiar with inventory management software.
- Capable of performing tasks involving Lifting and carrying items, typically up to 50 lbs.
- Strong organizational skills and a meticulous eye for detail.
- Commitment to upholding safety standards and proper use of PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
- Must be reliable and punctual, with a proactive approach to tasks.
