We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our New York City, New York team. This role is pivotal to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory within a high-volume logistics environment. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular cycle counts, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, performing audits, and ensuring that our Warehouse Management System (WMS) reflects real-time stock levels. You will collaborate closely with warehouse operations, receiving, and shipping teams to identify root causes of inaccuracies and implement preventative measures. Proficiency with inventory management software and scanning technology is essential. A strong analytical mindset and exceptional organizational skills are required to succeed in this role. - Conduct frequent cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between system records and physical stock.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of inventory data within the WMS.
- Implement and refine inventory control procedures to minimize loss and errors.
- Collaborate with operations staff to ensure efficient put-away and picking processes.
- Generate reports on inventory accuracy, aging, and other key metrics.
- Assist in identifying slow-moving or obsolete stock.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of inventory.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory control or a related warehouse role. Strong understanding of inventory management principles and logistics best practices. Proficiency with WMS and ERP systems. Experience with RF scanners. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to perform moderate lifting (up to 30 lbs). High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE.
