Our busy distribution center in Baltimore, Maryland, is looking for skilled Forklift Operators to join our dedicated team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be instrumental in the safe and efficient movement of goods throughout our facility. Your responsibilities will include operating forklifts to load and unload trucks, move materials to and from storage areas, and assist with inventory management. We are committed to maintaining a secure and productive work environment, adhering to strict Safety standards and providing all necessary PPE . This role requires precision, experience, and a strong understanding of warehouse Logistics . You must be comfortable with tasks involving significant Lifting and material handling. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack, load, and unload materials.
- Transport goods from receiving to storage, and from storage to shipping areas.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues immediately.
- Verify the accuracy of goods being moved against shipping orders and receiving documents.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear pathways and safe storage.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Wear and properly use all required PPE , including hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves.
- Follow instructions from supervisors regarding material handling priorities.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of warehouse operations and Logistics .
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA-compliant).
- Thorough knowledge of forklift operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and order forms.
- Strong understanding of warehouse layout and inventory control.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as occasional Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Willingness to wear and use all designated PPE .
- Familiarity with Logistics and warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Reliable and punctual attendance.
