Join our dynamic team as a Forklift Operator in Detroit, Michigan. This role is critical to the efficient operation of our logistics and distribution center. You will be responsible for safely and effectively operating forklifts to move, stack, load, and unload materials throughout the warehouse. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe forklift operation, a keen understanding of warehouse safety procedures, and excellent spatial awareness. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and possess the ability to follow instructions accurately. Certification or proven experience operating various types of forklifts is required. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the smooth flow of inventory, minimizing damage, and contributing to overall productivity. This position demands attention to detail, a strong sense of responsibility, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and others. You will be required to wear appropriate PPE at all times. The job also involves other warehouse duties as assigned, which may include lifting and manual labor. We are committed to operational excellence and safety in all our logistics activities. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) safely and efficiently to move pallets and materials.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Stack and retrieve inventory from racking systems.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, practicing good housekeeping.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures regarding forklift operation and warehouse logistics.
- Wear all required PPE, including safety shoes and high-visibility vests.
- Be able to perform lifting tasks up to 50 lbs when not operating equipment.
- Follow all instructions from supervisors regarding material movement and storage.
