Join our thriving logistics center as a Material Handler in Detroit, Michigan. This position is essential for maintaining the smooth flow of goods throughout our warehouse. You will be responsible for moving, organizing, and preparing materials for shipment or further processing. This includes loading and unloading trucks, operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, and ensuring all inventory is stored safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of warehouse operations, and a commitment to safety protocols. You will work closely with other warehouse staff and management to meet operational goals and deadlines. This role requires physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor, including frequent lifting. We are looking for individuals who are proactive, responsible, and eager to contribute to a productive team environment. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is beneficial. Your role is critical to the overall success of our logistics chain, ensuring that products move efficiently from receiving to shipping. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Organize and stack materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage or discrepancies.
- Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory count.
- Prepare materials for shipment by staging them in the appropriate areas.
- Adhere to all company safety regulations and wear required PPE, including safety shoes and vests.
- Be prepared for lifting tasks up to 60 lbs.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized warehouse, practicing good housekeeping.
- Follow all guidelines for safe material handling and logistics procedures.
