ConnectWell Community Health is seeking Respite Workers to support children and youth accepted for Urgent Response support. The successful candidate will work with the Urgent Response Interdisciplinary Team to provide respite support to families. This team meets weekly to discuss and set goals to help children with developmental and mental health needs remain in their family home and community. Being part of such a team is both rewarding and satisfying. This respite support occurs mainly in the family's home or on community outings.
Position Summary: We are looking for dedicated, compassionate, and reliable staff to provide support to children and young adults that may have complex mental health, medical, physical and/or developmental needs. URS Respite is scheduled in consultation with families, and the successful candidate must be available to work afternoons, evenings and weekends.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in one of the Social Sciences or related experience (or working towards) including Mental Health diploma or degree.
- Extensive experience working with children/youth with complex needs. As well as experience providing respite within home and community settings.
- Attention to detail, ability to prioritize and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication
Reporting Relationship: The successful candidate will report to the Team Lead, Respite Resource Planning
