Baker Assistant

Job Overview
We are an established café-bakery in Vancouver seeking an experienced Baker Assistant to support our production team. This role is ideal for someone with solid hands-on baking and cake decorating skills who is comfortable working early mornings in a structured, fast-paced kitchen.

Candidates with professional bakery experience or strong home-baking experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily production of baked goods, pastries, and desserts
• Execute and support cake & pastry decorating, including icing, piping, and finishing work
• Prepare ingredients and support efficient production workflows
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety
• Work closely with the baking team to ensure consistency and quality
• Support general kitchen operations as required

Skills

• Minimum 1 year of proven experience in cake decorating, baking, or pastry arts with attention to detail (professional kitchen or experienced home baker)
• Demonstrated cake decorating skills with strong attention to detail and presentation
• Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
• Proficient with professional baking tools and equipment, including mixers, ovens, knives, and piping tools
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced production environment
• Reliable, organized, and capable of working independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable with early morning shifts starting at 7:00 AM
• Available to work up to 6 days per week
• Professional attitude and strong work ethic; basic customer service skills are an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.85-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
