About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Hard Services Manager to lead the delivery of hard FM services across two PFI contracts. This is a key technical leadership role, responsible for ensuring safe, compliant and high-quality service delivery in line with client SLAs, statutory requirements and company standards.
You will act as the technical lead on the contracts, advising the Contract Manager on compliance, performance and risk, while working closely with the client to support effective project delivery and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and promote a strong Health, Safety & Environmental culture, ensuring full compliance across teams and subcontractors
- Manage the delivery and quality of hard services in line with SLAs, ISO standards and company procedures
- Take ownership of hard services budgets, ensuring cost control and value for money
- Deputise for the Contract Manager when required
- Ensure Compass/PPP-IML policies, procedures and controlled documents are implemented effectively
- Lead, engage and develop engineering teams, ensuring correct staffing levels, training and succession planning
- Manage and analyse CAFM data to drive operational efficiency
- Produce client reports and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery
- Manage lifecycle, variation and project works from inception to completion, including billing
- Control and govern third-party suppliers to ensure SLA compliance
- Drive continuous improvement across Quality, Cost, Delivery and Safety
- Act as an Authorised Person (LV, HV, water, medical gases, confined spaces, etc.)
- Attend off-site meetings, training and networking events as required
About You
You will be a technically strong FM professional with healthcare and PFI experience, confident managing people, performance, compliance and budgets.
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Hard FM delivery within a PFI healthcare environment
- Strong knowledge of HTMs, statutory compliance and safety processes
- Planned and reactive maintenance management using SFG20
- Line management of engineers and subcontractors
- Budget management and cost control
- CAFM systems experience (e.g. MRI Evolution, Maximo, TopDesk)
- Project management including lifecycle and variation works
- Experience as a Duty Holder / Authorised Person (or above)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to technical detail
- Confident stakeholder and client communication skills
Desirable:
- NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma (or willingness to work towards)
- IWFM Level 4 or above (or equivalent)

- Experience developing and upskilling teams
- Ability to deliver training and present to small groups
