At TOULA, the Esthetician delivers exceptional, high-tech facial treatments, combining advanced techniques with warm hospitality to provide personalized patient care. With a passion for skincare and an in-depth knowledge of the skin, all skin types, ingredients, acne, and pre-/post-treatment protocols, they perform expert facial massage, skin extractions, and tailored consultations to recommend treatment plans and retail products that drive wellness and beauty outcomes. Passionate about helping patients achieve their skin goals, they thrive in a collaborative, patient-focused environment, maintaining impeccable sanitation standards and holding a valid esthetician certification from an accredited Ontario institution.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care and Education:
- Conduct thorough skin consultations to assess patient needs and recommend personalized treatment plans, including facials, chemical peels, and home care regimens.
- Deliver a variety of high-tech facial treatments following TOULA studio protocols to deliver a consistent and exceptional standard of patient care.
- Educate patients on skin health, treatment options, and retail products to empower their wellness goals.
- Address patient inquiries with professionalism, ensuring prompt and accurate responses to maximize satisfaction.
Sales and Service Excellence
- Drive retail product and service sales to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual targets (e.g., 20% of booked service revenue or as set by management).
- Promote spa memberships, seasonal promotions, and packages to enhance patient engagement and loyalty.
- Adhere to TOULA's established pricing guides and minimums for treatments and retail products, consulting with management in advance of any deviations.
- Create a welcoming, high-energy atmosphere that reflects TOULA's commitment to world-class service and patient safety.
Operational Excellence
- Document patient treatments and interactions accurately in the EMR system, complying with Ontario's PHIPA regulations.
- Uphold stringent sanitation and sterilization standards per OHSA and TOULA policies.
- Manage treatment room setup, including cleaning, restocking, and maintaining equipment for operational efficiency.
- Support medical staff with patient preparation and clinical tasks, adhering to CPSO guidelines.
Teamwork and Community Engagement
- Collaborate with medical and administrative teams to enhance patient experiences and streamline operations.
- Participate in TOULA-hosted events (e.g., skincare workshops, open houses) to build community connections and showcase services/products.
- Attend all scheduled staff meetings, in-services, and two employer-approved external training sessions annually through recognized providers (e.g., Canadian Association of Estheticians).
- Foster a positive, inclusive team culture that prioritizes patient care and professional growth.
Position Requirements:
- Valid esthetician certification or diploma from an accredited Ontario institution (e.g., private career college or community college registered with the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities).
- Passion for skin health and delivering exceptional patient experiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a natural ability to build trust and connections with patients.
- Excellent time management to maintain efficient appointment schedules.
- Compliance with PHIPA and strict adherence to patient confidentiality.
- Proficient in EMR systems and basic computer skills for documentation and scheduling.
- Collaborative mindset, eager to support colleagues and contribute to TOULA's goals.
- Innovative approach to recommending tailored treatments and staying current with industry trends.
- Professional demeanor with patients, co-workers, and community members.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Cultural sensitivity to serve Ontario's diverse patient population (multilingual skills are a plus).
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Valid esthetician certification or diploma from an accredited Ontario institution.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an aesthetic, dermatology, or medical spa setting (preferred); candidates with equivalent training and certifications may be considered.
- Additional certifications in advanced treatments (e.g., laser therapy, chemical peels, microneedling) are a plus.

The role of the Esthetician at TOULA may require evening and weekend work. This position will be based in our studio with occasional travel required locally for training.
Base Wage Range: $20 - $23, depending on the experience of the candidate.
