Network Cabling Technicians

Summary:

Responsible for the installation and maintenance of low-voltage cabling systems, including CAT5e/CAT6/CAT6A copper, OM3, OM4, OM5, SM1, SM2 fiber optics, coaxial cables, and related hardware. Ensures projects meet quality, safety, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install structured cabling systems for data, voice, and video networks
• Pull, terminate, test, and label copper and fiber optic cables
• Install racks, patch panels, cable trays, and telecom room infrastructure
• Use test equipment (Fluke, OTDR, power meters) to certify cabling
• Troubleshoot and repair network cabling issues
• Interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical documentation
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, and other trades
• Maintain accurate documentation and as-built drawings
• Fill in and maintain daily and weekly submissions of site paperwork

Qualifications:

• 5-10 years proven industry experience in structured cabling
• Strong knowledge of TIA/EIA standards
• Experience with fiber termination (fusion/splice)
• Ability to operate test equipment
• BICSI certification {Tech/installer II) preferred
• Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces
• must have own vehicle

Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship

Pay: $25.45-$42.17 per hour
