We have an exciting opportunity for a Shipping Clerk in Richmond, Virginia! This role is key to ensuring our products reach our customers efficiently and accurately. You will be responsible for processing outgoing shipments, preparing necessary documentation, and coordinating with various shipping carriers. The ideal candidate is meticulous, organized, and possesses a strong understanding of logistics and warehouse operations. You will play an important part in maintaining customer satisfaction by ensuring timely and correct shipments. Safety is our top priority, and you will be trained on all procedures, including the correct use of PPE. This position offers a chance to grow within a supportive team and contribute to the overall success of our distribution center. We are looking for someone proactive and eager to learn the intricacies of our shipping processes.
Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare all outgoing shipments accurately.
- Verify orders against shipping labels and manifests.
- Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and bills of lading.
- Schedule and coordinate with transportation carriers.
- Inspect packages for damage and ensure proper packaging.
- Maintain inventory of shipping supplies and order as needed.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and guidelines.
- Wear appropriate PPE as required by the job.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed, including occasional Lifting of up to 45 lbs.
- Support the overall logistics and supply chain operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related warehouse role is preferred. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong attention to detail. Basic computer proficiency. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of Safety procedures in a warehouse setting. Good communication skills.
