We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Kansas City, Missouri. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of incoming shipments, ensuring that all goods are received, inspected, and recorded properly. This position is vital to maintaining the integrity of our inventory and supporting the smooth operation of our warehouse. You will work closely with vendors, carriers, and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies and ensure timely delivery of materials. Strong organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy are essential for success in this role. Your contributions will directly impact our supply chain efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies.
- Verify the contents of shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately record received goods into the inventory management system.
- Identify and report any shortages, damages, or overages to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Coordinate with shipping departments to ensure timely movement of goods.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Understand and contribute to efficient logistics operations.
- Be prepared for tasks that may involve significant Lifting.
- Commit to workplace Safety standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment and procedures is a plus.
