We are hiring a diligent Shipping Clerk for our San Antonio, Texas facility! This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and accurate dispatch of all outbound shipments. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, verifying shipment details, and ensuring that all packages are labeled correctly and meet carrier requirements. You will play a key role in our **Logistics** operations, making sure that our products reach their destinations efficiently and without error. A strong emphasis is placed on **Safety**, and you will be expected to follow all established **Safety** protocols and wear the designated **PPE**. While this role is primarily administrative, there may be instances requiring some physical work, including occasional **Lifting**. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this position. You will work closely with warehouse staff and external **Logistics** providers to streamline the shipping process. Responsibilities:
- Generate and process shipping labels and manifests.
- Schedule pickups with various shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTL, etc.).
- Verify shipment contents against orders and packing slips.
- Ensure all packages are correctly labeled and meet carrier specifications.
- Communicate with customers and internal teams regarding shipment status.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
- Assist in resolving shipping-related issues and discrepancies.
- Follow all **Safety** guidelines and use appropriate **PPE**.
- Perform minor physical tasks related to shipment preparation, including occasional **Lifting**.
- Contribute to process improvements in the shipping department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree a plus.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related **Logistics** role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and carrier portals.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Understanding of shipping **Safety** regulations.
- Ability to perform light **Lifting** as needed.
- Familiarity with standard **PPE**.
