Our Jacksonville, Florida facility is seeking an organized and reliable Shipping Clerk. This role is essential for ensuring that all products are dispatched efficiently and accurately to our valued customers. You will be responsible for preparing all necessary shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, verifying order contents, and ensuring packages are ready for timely delivery. The ideal candidate will have a sharp eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a demanding logistics environment. Previous experience with shipping software and a familiarity with different shipping methods (e.g., parcel, LTL) is advantageous. You will work closely with our warehouse and inventory teams to guarantee seamless order fulfillment. Prioritizing safety and efficiency is paramount in this role, and all company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE, must be followed. This position involves standing for extended periods and may require lifting lighter packages. - Prepare shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Verify order accuracy by comparing items packed against order specifications.
- Inspect packages for proper sealing and labeling.
- Stage outgoing shipments in designated areas for carrier pickup.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update tracking information in the system.
- Communicate with internal departments regarding shipment status and any potential issues.
- Assist with inventory checks and reporting as required by the logistics department.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and wear the designated PPE.
- Be capable of lifting packages up to 30 lbs.
- Ensure all shipments comply with company and carrier regulations.
