We are seeking a diligent Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Sacramento, California. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurate, timely, and properly documented. You will be responsible for preparing shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, organizing outbound freight, and performing quality checks to ensure orders are correct before they leave the facility. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience with shipping software and carrier portals is a plus. You will work closely with order pickers and material handlers to ensure a smooth workflow. A commitment to safety and efficiency is essential, as is the willingness to follow all company policies and procedures. This role requires individuals who are reliable, proactive, and dedicated to customer satisfaction. The position involves standing for extended periods and some lifting. We expect all employees to adhere to strict safety guidelines, including the use of necessary PPE. Responsibilities:
- Generate and apply shipping labels and documentation accurately.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, LTL) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Verify outgoing orders against packing lists to ensure accuracy.
- Inspect packages for damage or proper sealing before shipment.
- Organize and stage shipments for carrier pickup.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Communicate with internal departments (e.g., sales, warehouse) regarding shipping status.
- Assist with inventory reconciliation as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety standards and wear required PPE.
- Be prepared for lifting packages weighing up to 30 lbs.
- Support the overall logistics process by ensuring timely and accurate outbound deliveries.
