We're searching for a detail-oriented and organized individual to play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely dispatch of our products. This position is vital for customer satisfaction and the smooth operation of our shipping department. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring all outgoing shipments meet our high standards.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and shipping labels.
- Verify shipment contents against orders to ensure accuracy before dispatch.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Communicate with internal departments (e.g., sales, warehouse) to resolve shipping-related issues.
- Maintain organized records of all shipping activities and transactions.
- Operate shipping software and systems to input data and generate reports.
- Ensure packages are properly labeled and packaged for transit, following all relevant guidelines.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when handling goods.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and accuracy of the logistics department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework is a plus.
- Previous experience in a shipping, logistics, or administrative role.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and shipping software.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with common shipping carriers and their procedures.
- Understanding of warehouse and logistics best practices.
