Job Summary:
Our dynamic logistics company is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in the bustling heart of New York City. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory records, ensuring that all stock is accounted for, properly stored, and readily available for distribution. This position is vital to the smooth operation of our warehouse and the overall efficiency of our supply chain. You will work closely with warehouse staff, supervisors, and management to implement and maintain inventory control procedures.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock levels.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
  • Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures to minimize loss and damage.
  • Monitor inventory levels, identify slow-moving or obsolete stock, and recommend actions.
  • Operate scanning equipment and inventory management software.
  • Ensure proper rotation of stock (FIFO/LIFO) as required.
  • Collaborate with receiving and shipping departments to ensure accurate documentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized inventory storage area.
  • Assist in the training of new warehouse personnel on inventory procedures.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role within a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to lifting guidelines.
